Gate of the Setting Sun

LFD Level: 88 – 90 (Heroic Level: 90)
Minimum Level: 88
Timewalking Level: 91+

To complete Looking for Dungeon (LFD) you need to ‘Defeat Raigonn’.
You can mount up in the outside area where you kill final boss Raigonn.

You can find Gate of the Setting Sun dungeon within Serpent’s Spine.

The coordinates are (15.4,74.5)


Go towards Setting Sun Garrison at bottom left of map. Fly to the wall and find the Serpent’s Spine flightmaster.


You should see the summon stone and portal entrance nearby.

Once boss dead go to the cannons on side of platform and fire them at the mobs in air. Go back down elevator and run past the pandas down the path to light the Signal Flame (48.0, 12.5). This will start the next part of dungeon, rest of group will be teleported to the same point after cutscene.



Jump over the broken rocks and jump down again, you will take some damage but most players do this instead of running all way round down the steps as it is much quicker.


Take less damage before the big drop by jumping onto the plank of wood half way down.

Saboteur-Kip'tilak-ModelCopy/Paste Macro:
/i Throws explosives around room, don’t stand in line with any (stand on side) as line of fire goes in 4 directions. Stay near edge if you have Sabotage bomb on you. Stay spread during this fight. At 70% & 30% health detonates all explosives.

Striker-Ga'dok-ModelCopy/Paste Macro:
/i Boss moves around platform, stay away from large patches of fire. Try to stay with tank as can get seperated. Devours a nearby player with Prey Time, healer be ready. Heal tank when hit with Impaling Strike. Tank get adds. Avoid Acid Bombs dropped.

Commander-Ri'mok-ModelCopy/Paste Macro:
/i Tank keep boss moving out of green puddles. Pop cooldown or move out of frontal cone Frenzied Assault. Tank get adds. Careful of bombs.

Raigonn-ModelCopy/Paste Macro:
/i Tank stay on ground & get adds. Healer & 1 dps also stay. 2 dps go into cannons to hit bosses weak spot. When dps knocked off help with adds, then jump back on. Once weak spot destroyed boss will fixate a player, run away while all dps finish boss.

This can only be done on Heroic.

Trigger 15 explosions within 15 seconds during the Saboteur Kip’tilak encounter.

At 70% & 30% health boss will detonate all explosives (World in Flames). You need 15 bombs to be on the ground before he reaches 70% or 30% health.

Players need to not blow up any bombs that land, if you get targeted with Sabotage you will have bombs attach to your back. That player will need to position themselves so that when the bomb explodes the fire lines (goes out in 4 directions) will not hit any of the other bombs.

If you succeed you will get the achievement straight away after the bombs all blow up. You do not have to kill the boss to get it.

This achievement goes towards ‘Glory of the Pandaria Hero’.


This can only be done on Heroic.

Gain three stacks of Resin Residue by defeating Mantid Conscripts.

These mobs are not during a boss fight.

After you kill the 3rd boss Commander Ri’mok go to the right side (before dropping down to final boss) and you should see 3 Krik’thik Conscripts.


Whether you are doing this solo or in a group you need to stand near the Krik’thik Conscripts for when they are about to die.

They will explode and give all in the explosion a debuff called Resin Residue, this lasts for 2 minutes.

Players find it easier to kill one at a time as they hit quite hard but just make sure to kill all 3 quickly to get the 3 stacks of Resin Residue in time. You can also try lowering their health then killing them together.

Apparently certain spells like Iceblock will remove the stacks of Resin Residue so be careful of using them.

This achievement goes towards ‘Glory of the Pandaria Hero’.

Mantid Swarm


This can be done on Normal & Heroic.

Defeat Raigonn without killing any of the Mantid reinforcements.

Do the fight as normal by sending 2 dps in the cannons to hit the weak spot on boss. The tank, 1 dps and healer should stay on the ground.

Have the tank aggro all the mobs (Mantid reinforcements) that spawn. Do not kill any of them but use any slows & stuns you have and try kite them around.

Healer make sure to dispel Screeching Swarm from the Swarm Bringer adds.

Once the weak spot is destroyed boss will fixate a player, run away while all the dps finish the boss.

You can only get this achievement once the adds have actually spawned, if you kill the boss before any spawn it won’t work.

Raigonn Attacks the Gates

Along the edge of the wall you can see Raigonn trying to break in using himself to try ram the door down.


When you run over the bridge (which is the door) and you are on it when Raigonn hits you will be knocked over.

He breaks in during the cutscene when you light the Signal Flame (after killing boss 2 Striker Ga’dok).

Artillery Boost

If you need to get back up to the top you can click the Artillery machine, this will launch you into the air and back onto the path above.


Quick Exit

After you have killed final boss Raigonn the giant door he was hitting was hiding a portal.


This portal will exit you out of the dungeon, handy if you want to reset the dungeon quickly.
