Dire Maul: Capital Gardens

LFD Level: 39 – 49
Minimum Level: 31

To complete Looking for Dungeon (LFD) you need to ‘Defeat Prince Tortheldrin’.
Throughout the dungeon you must kill Mana Remnants & Arcane Aberration that are guarding the blue crystal pylons, these all need destroying in order to deactivate the shield guarding Immol’thar (boss 4).
The blue crystal pylons are marked on maps as * icons.

You can find the Dire Maul Capital Gardens dungeon within Feralas, Kalimdor.
The coordinates are (60.3,30.4)

Make your way to Feralas and go to Dire Maul located in middle of map.


Go up the path and into the building front called Eldreth Row, you can turn left or right here.

The first two doorways left/right will have small doorways within a large one.


Go through one, you will be in Broken Commons.

Go over to the left hand side and you will see against the wall small doorways by some statues, the right and left portals are the same entrance.

Copy/Paste Macro:
/i Ferra deals physical damage. Illyanna is ranged & uses arrows, her Concussive Shot dazes a player. Avoid trap on floor.


Copy/Paste Macro:
/i Uses lots of shadow damage spells. Controls a player using Dominate Mind the player will fight for the boss. At 50% uses Shadowform. Reduces players melee damage & increases his shadow damage.


Copy/Paste Macro:
/i Summons Ironbark Protector tree minions. Entangles & knocks back players. Move away to avoid Trample.


Copy/Paste Macro:
/i Infected Bite increases players damage taken. Frenzy increases bosses attack speed by 60%. Kill any Eye of Immol’thar.


Copy/Paste Macro:
/i Arcane Blast causes damage & knock back. This boss uses melee attacks inflicting physical damage. Healer be ready for Thrash as boss uses attacks two more times. If Healer gets nature locked use cooldowns to survive.

Pick this quest up from Estulan located at the right portal entrance in Dire Maul.

Find and speak to the Shen’dralar Ancient found in Court of the Highborne (up the stairs).


Shen’dralar Ancient will tell you a tale of what happened there.

The Madness Within

Pick this quest up from Shen’dralar Ancient found in Court of the Highborne (up the stairs).

You need to destroy the mobs surrounding the 5 Pylons that power the Prison of forth boss Immol’thar.


You can find the 5 Pylons on the Quick Dungeon Dire Maul Maps for this dungeon.

After you killed Immol’thar go and kill the final boss Prince Tortheldrin, you can then hand the finished quest back into Shen’dralar Ancient.

The Treasure of the Shen'dralar

Pick this quest up from Shen’dralar Ancient found in Court of the Highborne (up the stairs).

Go to the Athenaeum (room where final boss is) and find the Treasure of the Shen’dralar.


The treasure is located under the stairway.

Ancient Equine Spirit

This horse appears after you kill Tendris Warpwood, the spirit used to be part of the Paladin mount questline. Once you killed Tendris you needed special horse feed which you got from Southshore to soothe the spirit horse and receive it’s blessing.


The horse spirit is held by the corrupt Tendris Warpwood, defeat Tendris to free the Ancient Equine Spirit. This is all you can do now, but once you free the spirit it wonders around the Capital Gardens.

The Shen'dralar

The Shen’dralar are an unknown faction of Highborne who live within The Athenaeum in Dire Maul.

They are whats left of the quel’dorei who once lived in Eldre’Thalas (now known as Dire Maul). It was the capital of Queen Azshara’s Highborne servants.


Shen’dralar are very knowledgeable, speak with some of them to here different quotes.

The Athenaeum Back Door

If you head to the opposite side of the room to the boss you will see a door.


You can open the door and run down a long path, the map will show that you end up in Gordok Commons. Unfortunatly you cannot open the door at the end of the path, it might be that the door has been blocked from the otherside to stop anyone passing through since Gordok Commons is overrun by Ogres.
